How payment works

  • Lesson cancellations

    • Lessons must be cancelled with 48 hours notice or the lesson fee is non-refundable. With short notice a lesson cannot be rebooked, so the lesson slot is lost.
  • Block bookings

    • The full fee must be paid in advance.
    • Each block must be used within 4 months or it becomes void and non-refundable.
  • Driving test

    • Let's Go Driving School has the final say on whether a pupil is ready to take their driving test, and whether the driving school car can be used.

Not sure which to pick?

Most pupils start with a single lesson to get a feel for the car and the teaching style, then move onto a block booking once they’re settled. Call or text and we can work out a plan based on the driving you’ve already done.

Questions about lessons and payment

  • Do you teach manual as well as automatic?
Lessons are automatic only, for all levels from complete beginners up to test standard. Worth knowing: passing your test in an automatic gives you a licence for automatic cars, so if you specifically want to drive a manual you would need to take your test with a manual instructor.
  • I have never driven before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Complete beginners on a provisional licence are very welcome, and so are nervous drivers. The aim is to help even the most nervous beginner become a confident, capable driver.
  • I passed my test a long time ago. Can I have refresher lessons?
Yes. Refresher lessons are available for full licence holders who want to rebuild confidence or polish specific skills such as parallel parking.
  • I learned to drive abroad. Can you help?
Yes. Pupils who have driven overseas are welcome, including those getting used to driving on the left for the first time.
  • How much notice do I need to cancel a lesson?
Lessons need 48 hours notice to cancel, otherwise the lesson fee is non-refundable, because a slot cancelled at short notice cannot be rebooked.
  • How long do block bookings last?
A block booking must be paid in full up front and used within 4 months, after which it becomes void and non-refundable.
  • Can I use the school car for my driving test?
Yes. The driving test package is £180 and includes a one hour warm-up lesson beforehand plus use of the car for the test. The school has the final say on whether a pupil is ready to take their test.
  • Do I need to pass the theory test first?
Yes. You cannot apply for your practical test until you have passed the theory test, which is a multiple choice section plus a hazard perception video test.
