Theory test and hazard perception
You can't apply for your practical test until you've passed the theory test, so it's worth starting your revision early.
What's involved
Two parts, one appointment
The test is made up of two parts: a multiple choice questionnaire, and a hazard perception video test.
The actual theory test questions are no longer published. Any questions you find in revision materials will give you a good idea of what to expect, but they won’t be word for word what you face on the day.
Booking your test
Theory tests are booked through GOV.UK. Book directly there to avoid paying a third party more than the standard fee.
